The Gapers Block Chicago "L" System Mapped Out

Map is Public

This is a map of one of the Chicago "L" fantasy maps that spurred my interest in metro system maps and fantasy maps, which eventually led me to this website. This map, although it has problems, was my first "real" point of contact with the world of public transit. I am not bothered to list out all the changes proposed by someone else, so I recommend viewing the original blog webpage. All stops, lines, station names, and colors are all directly borrowed from the original map. If you have any questions, check out the original source. If your questions are related to why some decisions were made, ask the people at Gapers Block, which, by the way, has ceased publication. I had to occasionally find creative solutions to things not addressed on the original map, such as some station names and placements on some lines. The Green Line south loop is very hard to recreate in a manner that doesn't run over numerous homes and buildings, so I thought that this approximation would suffice. Do note, however, that it is not faithful to the original map. View the webpage here: http://www.gapersblock.com/detour/a_cta_map_for_2055/
