Just fooling around with this cool site. In this fantasy world in which metro budgets manifest from thin air and there is no construction mob and there was never a moratorium on infrastructure, we see such fantastic and whimsical additions to the system as: -The Red Line, spanning the island north to south and finally linking the disparate ends of poor, long-suffering Cavendish Boulevard, cruelly separated by Cote St. Luc like lovers kept apart by a well-intentioned but ultimately intrusive bestie. At least the mayor can act! The Red Line also tackles, by some magic, the eternal question of "Why Is There No Way Across The St Jacques Escarpment In NDG Other Than By Car?" by, like, burrowing down or idk maybe they made a funicular. Seriously it should not take a person only 15 minutes by car but an HOUR by transit to get from NDG to Angrignon. Just let a girl go to the mall/park!! Forcing you to go into town then out of town just to descend a damn cliff is outrageous!! God forbid a woman want something efficient!! -Blue Line West, a wacky and quasi-canon extension to the underdog of the STM. No the Yellow Line isn't the underdog it's the metro equivalent of the third Hemsworth brother. Anyway, the original plan called to bring the Blue Line westward toward the train station in Montreal West. But we can't have nice things, or intermodal transfers, so they canned it. Well, in this world, it's been brought back from the dead! And then I entered a fugue state, and when I came to, it had somehow reached the airport. You're welcome, Lachine! Anyone west of Dorval is free to petition for the train to run more often on the Vaudreuil line or take the REM. -Yellow Line Gets Long-ueuil. The runt of the STM. Love her, hate her, either way you're riding her to get to La Ronde. Or you live in the South Shore and it's a weekend or really any day throughout the year and the REM is down. I made this extension loosely based off of a graphic that was on the news about Longueuil getting a yellow line extension. I say loosely, because they put a fucking station in the middle of an interchange, and I for one don't like to step into oncoming traffic upon exiting the metro. Someone should tell Namur. Anyway, I followed that route and realized it ended near the airport, so boom. Another airport linked to the metro. Now, this may come as a shock to some readers, but I believe we should be taking the train for travel within the province/country. But I can still support intermodal links. Ended up going crazy with it and making a loop. Tee hee. -Orange Line North, in which I glue together a handful of proposed extensions until we get a nice big loop. About time! -The Purple Line... the line behind the slaughter.. Anyway I just figured a little in-between option for those who are stuck at odds twixt the green and blue lines. I know the idea of drilling under the mountain again is as unlikely as it is for Westmount to allow metro stations in their neighbourhood, but hey, a girl can dream. The two stops on the mountain were sort of a 'well maybe old people who can't hike wanna see the stuff there'. I know I'd sure like to still go to the lookout point when I'm old and crusty and can't do stairs or a 5k uphill. Does NYC have stops in Central Park? Idk, probably. They've got those things crammed in every nook and cranny you could think of. -The Grey Line... Felt like it. Idk. -St. Jerome Line Revamp. Why are we maintaining 10+ km of track between Mo West and Parc with no stops whatsoever? Boring!! Plus, with the Hippodrome urban development thingamajiggy, there's going to be a big clump of urban density ripe for the picking where the line hits Decarie. Let them ride trains!! Also added intermodal-ish stops at Cavendish and near TMR. I also reinstated the Petit Train Du Nord because fuck you automobile industrial complex!! I will go to St Adele and dance on Seraphin Poudrier's grave!! I will go to Val David and buy one thousand and one pots!! I will go to Ste Agathe Des Monts and look at that lake Duddy Kravitz bought!! I will go to Tremblant and spend $50 on a small pizza!! Look plotting out the rail line is a pain but it's worth it for the bit. -Added Khanawake to the Candiac line. I mean cmon it's right there let them in on it!! Also extended it to St Jean, just for you Camille babes 😘 -Mont Saint Hilaire Line has had some polish. Moved the St Bruno station because who in their right mind decided to put it THERE?? In the middle of an interchange?? So I put it back in Saint Bruno proper, where it used to be. -Reopened the Chateauguay line. They can have it. As a treat. -Montfort Line... total Work in Progress cause like with the ptit train du nord, I'm following the old phantom rail lines that are now hiking trails. -REM DE L'EST BAYBEEE yes I know they're planning on still doing it just under new management and also with tramways... best of luck to them I guess... Anyway I brought it back in its initial form. -Ferries!! Most of these are canon but I added one southbound for shits and giggles. We have a river, why shouldn't we utilise it a bit more? Massive kudos to user 'oulawt' for putting together the original canon map, which must have been insanely tedious.
