Front Range Rail, or as more recently known CoCo: High(ish) speed rail, built for speed of 150 mph (240 km/h). A little slower than traditional long distance HSR, this lines primary goal is serving medium distance travel in the Front Range corridor, with tighter curves and more frequent stops than typical for HSR. Outer sections Fort Collins-Cheyenne and Colorado Springs-Pueblo can be built as single track to save on costs, as long as the speed is not compromised. Generally it follows existing rail with a lot of curve straightening. Freight is completely separated, remaining on already existing tracks. Also the idea is to allow use of this infrastructure for other long distance passenger trains. An electric locomotive would be attached in Cheyenne, pull it to Pueblo, where it would continue on diesel power. If there is ever a need, currently there are no such services. Denver RTD: Connecting north and south rail services with a short tunnel at Union Station. Commuter rail gets converted to light rail but operates more frequently, except line A which remains commuter rail. Colfax Ave is implemented as light rail instead of BRT. Other proposed BRTs built as full BRT with dedicated median busways. Other transit: Not shown on the map are enhanced bus corridors with bus lanes on the side. Especially relevant for Colorado Springs which needs a robust improved bus (BRT-lite) network with dedicated lanes, without going to the lengths of implementing full BRT.
