This is an accurate map of the Cradle Mountain Shuttle Bus in Tasmania Australia. It operates on a 15 - 30 minute frequency during the day, and does not operate at night. It serves the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park's northern end, and has oeprated for many years. Passengers could ride it free with a Parks Pass, until recently. In November 2023, PWS Tasmania installed a $15AUD fee per person for riding the shuttle bus for 3 days. Passengers under 18 will travel free on the bus, however. It takes roughly 20 minutes one way to Dove Lake, where iconic views of Tasmania's Cradle Mountain can be attained, and many walks begin. The shuttle runs with bright blue buses, and are hard to miss. Many other private sightseeing buses run along the road, but they should not stop and you will not be allowed to board them. The shuttle only stops at intermediate stops when there is demand for it. A final note - Private Vehicle access is not allowed along the road while the bus is operating, unless you are a guest at Waldheim Chalet, and then you must follow behind a shuttle bus at all times.
