Las Vegas Light Rail

This system is designed to offer rapid transit with two objectives: 1) access to downtown and The Strip which are major employment areas, and 2) access to various regional activity centers such as shopping, major medical facilities, colleges, major sports venues, as well as connecting all major bus lines. It increases mobility and access to employment and higher education centers. Red Line: this is a major north /south axis line running along the entire "Strip" and through downtown to the northern suburbs, Nellis AFB, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and connects with the high speed rail station. Blue Line: an east/west line that runs from downtown Summerlin to Henderson mainly along Flamingo Rd and Boulder Hwy. Major destinations include downtown Summerlin, Univ of Nevada, The Strip, College of Southern NV, NV State College, and the link to the Boulder RR Green Line: an east/west line that runs from downtown Summerlin to Eastern Las Vegas mainly along Charleston Blvd and Nellis Blvd. Major destinations include downtown Summerlin, College of Southern NV, Univ Medical Ctr, downtown Las Vegas and The Strip Yellow Line: a circular line that travels along the Maryland Pkwy corridor, Charleston Blvd, and the 215 Beltway. It connects with all other lines around central Las Vegas with connections to the high speed rail station, Harry Reid Int'l Airport, Univ of Nevada, downtown Las Vegas, University Medical Center, College of Southern Nevada Charleston, and Summerlin. It is also meant to spur and focus development in Enterprise and Spring Valley along the 215 western beltway. Orange Line: a semi-circumferential line from Nellis to Enterprise and Henderson. This line is meant to facilitate travel across the southern metropolis, western Las Vegas, across the northern metropolis. It also serves the high speed rail station and several major shopping areas and medical centers. This line is also a major north/ south line in central Las Vegas along Decatur Blvd and Maryland Pkwy Purple Line: is a north/ south line from Centennial Hills through central Las Vegas to Henderson. It serves the Harry Reid Intl Airport, several major hospitals and shopping centers, downtown Henderson, UNLV Brown Line: is a north/south serving dense and transit dependent East Las Vegas communities, Downtown Las Vegas, College of Southern NV, The VA hospital, and the future UNLV North campus The system guarantees one transfer or less access to The Strip, Downtown Las Vegas, the Univ of Nevada, Harry Reid Int'l Airport, and the High Speed Rail station. The Las Vegas Monorail has been converted to a traditional tram on rails and extended to downtown and to Allegiant Stadium with direct connections to the Red, Green, and Yellow lines and indirect connections to the Blue and Purple lines. Extending the tram to serve the Arts District, Allegiant Stadium, LV North Premium Outlets, downtown attractions, and the Sphere make it more useful and increases ridership. Boulder City Heritage Railroad is a commuter and tourist steam rail line from Henderson through Boulder City to Lake Mead and Boulder Dam and follows an old RR ROW.
