(If catherine or How To Use AI see this) Notation: * = change nullified by a later change in the concept. 1*. The Zero Line, a loop connecting the downtown adjacent neighborhoods to each other. I admit this is kinda my calling card here, but the point is to avoid overloading Westlake with all the transfer passengers. It's a fine line between being a Crown Jewel Station... and being a victim of one's own success. (This turned out to be temporary until I could find a better solution. It eventually happened.) 7 Line's path kept evolving in imagination, ended up going around from Uptown- SLU- Capitol Hill- First Hill- Chinatown. The key here was the Alder-to-6th turn. 2. 2 Line's Redmond to Totem Lake section realigned to serve Education Hill via 164th Avenue / SR202. 4 Line shifted to serve the Wineries Area south of Woodinville. Speaking of, the Woodinville station shifted to the actual location of Woodinville P&R. 2 Line also extended to South Everett Station (112th St) for better interface with long-range routes from North Snohomish County. (previous item 3 now obliterated in system evolution) (previous item 4 involving line 6 functionally reversed as well) 5. Lines 9 (*now 6) (from Renton) and 5 (from the airport) extended to Kent. 6. 5 Line shifted away from Aurora (next to Green Lake) to the Phinney - Greenwood corridor, also serving Fremont. "East Queen Anne" station shifted closer to the lake. 7. 3 Line switches away from Lake City Way to 35th Avenue through Wedgwood, doubles with 7 from Childrens' Hospital to Wallingford, joins the 5 in Fremont and Westlake, joins the 1 tunnel downtown. I know, reverse branching klaxon and all that. 8 Line replaces the 3 from UW Station through downtown, then (this decision came later) doubling up on the (5) to the airport. (NOTE: Later changes to the 1 involving the third tunnel untangles the congestion.) 8. 4 Line felt too short, so sent to double on 1... reaching Tacoma Dome without becoming the longest running-time line. So the 1 will divide into 1A and 1B, the latter running only as far south as the airport with an extension past Lake City doubling the 3.... and reaches all the way to Redmond Tech without going longer than the 1A. (4 is probably half frequency as well because they're only serving Bellevue.) 3 Line also splits in response, 3B staying on the Woodinville path while 3A peels west from Lake Forest Park past Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds City Center. (3A in a further change becomes 5B giving direct Edmonds service that had been the 9's department.) 9. I now turn to the surface, with the extended South Lake Union Streetcar on 5th Avenue (mostly) and the new First Avenue Streetcar (partly the proposed Center City Connector) running between SODO station and the northern edges of Downtown Extended. 10. Redirected 1 and 9* Lines to a new tunnel path from Seattle Center and Belltown, up Olive Way paralleling the original Westlake, down Boren through First Hill to re-connect with the original 1 at International District. This removed the Zero's purpose. 1C Line collects the Renton - Kent - Auburn - Federal Way corridor, 1B renamed 9. 11. Figured out how to get a line to exit the 520 envelope on the city side but could only send it south to Capitol Hill, what it does next is open to debate. On both ends. 11B. 520 crossing extensions selected and oh boy did a bunch of earlier picks go out the window. On the east end takes over 6 to Issaquah, and also claiming the number as the Bothell piece is picked up by a branch of 4. After International District, joins 5 through the Duwamish Bypass, through the heart of Tukwila to Kent and Kent-Meridian. 12. I had been toying with a line from Airport to South Of Tacoma, and the line reshuffle caused by the 520 line's recreation gave me an opening. Reconstituted Line 7 reaches Tacoma Mall and Lakewood Station, which had been covered by a Tacoma Link line which gets redirected to Auburn, allowing also 4 Line to be cut back to Airport and head north. Only one of the branches reaches Everett sadly.
