Concept of a Providence area heavy rail system (likely with shared responsibility of the MBTA and Amtrak) that takes advantage of the relative density and seeks to give Rhode Island some public transport independence from Greater Boston. Likely would contain a mix of street level, elevated, and underground tracks and may function more like commuter rail in some parts.
