The Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) has proposed several enhancements, including the expansion of the existing Capital Line and the introduction of two new light rail lines: the Energy Line and the Festival Line. The Capital Line will be extended to Desrochers/Allard via the Heritage Town Centre and Anthony Henday Drive. Additionally, a northeastern expansion to Gorman is planned. The Metro Line will also be extended to the Na'a Transit Centre, running north through Northwest Edmonton from NAIT. Both Phases 1 and 2 of the Valley Line have been added as part of these expansions. The new Energy Line will run from Lewis Farms and will be concurrent with the Valley Line until it reaches Downtown Edmonton. From there, it will follow the southern portion of the downtown subway system until it merges with the Festival Line, ending in Sherwood Park. The Festival Line will begin at Ellerslie Road and will travel alongside the Valley Line Southeast until Bonnie Doon. At that point, it will turn west to follow the Energy Line into Downtown Edmonton. It will proceed to the Alex Decoteau station before connecting back to the Valley Line, continuing until Strathearn, and then following the Festival Line to Sherwood Park via 101 Avenue.
