The current bus system (https://www.cityoflakecharles.com/department/division.php?fDD=14-108) is made up of five, hour-long loops that run from 5:45 to 5:45. One-way loops are very suboptimal for transit systems as they are only useful for travel in one direction. This map tries to use the current resources available to the city (five buses) to achieve similar frequencies while hopefully creating a more interconnected and flexible network. Operationally, this might not be quite as easy given that each bus does not return to the Main Terminal once an hour—in fact only two routes serve downtown—but well, there's only so much you can do with this situation, isn't there. I also didn't think through bus stop positions. I'm sure someone who's spent more time in LC could propose better stops. Much of Lake Charles south of I-210 is low density suburbs, so other than the area close to the university and some of the busier roads that could be redone as transit corridors, I've overall reduced the density of service there in favor of elsewhere
