Map is Public

Includes currently developed/researched expansions, potential expansions discussed by agencies but not currently being studied further, scrapped plans ir old lines from previous agencies, as well as some fictional/speculative lines. Completed so far: BART Caltrain SMART MAX(speculative) Amtrak Contra CART(separate map) BART updates Explained: System will be completely grade separated with viaducts to be constructed in the current at grade sections in C.c. and Al. County. Second Transbay Tube + Geary Subway gives SF a proper multi line Metro-like spine for Muni Metro to build off of. Upgraded OAK monorail to support future Colosseum “Airport City”. Expanded eBART that integrates with wCART to form a commuter spine in the central contra costa area. The new system will be quad tracked along every multi line section This will allow sections of lines to be regional “express” lanes allowing for more direct long distance transit functioning as a hybrid metro/S-Bahn for the various metro hubs of the Bay. Amtrak: Tracks will be as de-interlined from freight as possible. Interstate trains will act as long distance/sleeper trains to complement future HSR connections. Capital Corridor and San Joaquins will become fully dedicated Intercity services. ACE: Atleast double tracks along whole system. Niles canyon section may require to use the old Niles railway for second track. This allows for bi directional service across the whole schedule and a dedicated regional/intercity service. SMART: Rebranded as Solano-Marin Area Rapid Transit. Will be fully double tracked and quadruple tracked along Amtrak ROW to for separation. Monterey Area Express (MAX) Hypothetical agency based off of current plans to revitalize Monterey Bay rail transit. This system would run similarly to the SMART system with light rail/ inter city hybrid trains. All interlined tracks will be doubled, and quadrupled along the Amtrak/Caltrain ROW Caltrain: Service will extend through the new Regional Transbay Tube for standard gauge trains to connect local services to Berkeley, Emeryville, and Jack London with Express services to Jack London. A second Local line that spurs off to the Dumbarton Bride will be interlined with the original San Jose line for more frequency along the peninsula, acting similarly to BARTs potential Hybrid service.
