Detroit Department of Transportation 2035(at most)

(When a train enters the Downtown Circular Area, it always goes clockwise. So even though something like the Woodward Michigan line would only go to the southwest portions, it would also go to the other stations when northbound. This happens for all the other lines aswell) (like the one map from 1918, everywhere on the Woodward line between grand Blvd and Campus Martius is underground with transfers to grand circus. The line would use the "lower Woodward park thingy" or that part of Jefferson's median before the road goes under the convention center to get to the Downtown Circular Area. Oh, and everything between Elmhurst St and Woodward Grand is underground on the Livernois Van Dyke line tehe.) The city of Detroit has always been trying to get some kind of metro system for at least the 1910's, all have been rejected for a more "cost effective streetcar" (was still cool ngl). And one of these attempts had an unfortunate situation, former dictator/mayor Coleman A(sshole) Young (73-94, thats 20 straight years) was a greedy bastard who wouldn’t let any policy go through unless he was getting 20 percent or more of the revenue. So after 10 years of delays and another 3ish of building, phase one was complete; in 1987, the Detroit People Mover was open. The DPM is a 2.9 mile loop going through downtown and some major destinations throughout the area, the system is considered a "white elephant" of sorts because it doesn’t help the suburbanites who voted against anything past 8 mile because they don't want ethnic minorities going into their cookie cutter "historic" towns (this was the 70s and 80s, remember?) So as someone who rides the DPM religiously, this map is what I would do, this is what it should have been
