This is all transit in Pierce County, Washington as it existed in 2026.
Changes since 2025 in no particular order:
- Stream has been extended north to Commerce Street Station with stops at UW and 14th.
- Route 574 now terminates at Lakewood Station instead of Lakewood Transit Center. It's also been renamed to reflect a change made to the route outside of Pierce County.
- Route 580 has been deleted as expected. It existed in 2023, was removed in 2024, was back in 2025, and is now permanently gone in 2026.
- Route 586 has been deleted.
- New Route 597 is an overnight Sound Transit Express service with stops in Pierce County at Tacoma Dome Station, State Route 512 Park & Ride, and Lakewood Station.
- Route 501 is running a long-term detour for southbound trips which uses Pacific Highway from 324th to 336th instead of 20th. It sounds like this is due to a construction site not providing enough room for buses even after construction completes.
- Gig Harbor Waterfront Connector was renamed to Gig Harbor Connector. New fake fake trolleybuses have been ordered, this route will go back to being the trolley either next year or the year after. The shorter routing is permanent.
- Buckley Connector was temporary for part of 2025 only, it will not be returning.
- New temporary Fan Zone Express route provided access to the FIFA Fan Zone at the casino during the World Cup. This will not return in 2027.
- Two new temporary routes for this year's State Fair have been added. One of them is weekend only during the fair and goes between the fair and South Hill, the other runs every day during the fair and goes between the fair, South Hill, and Lakewood.
- New Pierce County Peninsula Transit service. This is a county service, not a Pierce Transit service. This service runs very infrequently but it connects the system with the Key Peninsula. This has been a top request from residents, and it is a pilot until the end of 2027 where depending on ridership and funding it could become permanent. Ridership has been extremely low however due to lack of publicity. All stops are shown on this map, but the exact routing between some of them are currently unfinished, I will continue to chip away at this.
- King County Metro Route 182 no longer does a loop on Northshore, 45th, and 41st because it has been extended north on Hoyt through Twin Lakes by thru-running onto a new King County Metro route which is not shown as it does not touch Pierce County.
