SEA International Airport Ultra Realistic Rapid Transit Concept

Highly detailed. This map is currently completed. Existing routes exist today. Future routes will open in the future, STride will replace Route 560, and a 1 Line extension not shown will replace Route 574. I have vigorously studied Sea-Tac Airport expansion documents to show the most accurate representation of the Elevated Busway plan as not many details are known at this time, it will be outside airport security. The Ground Transportation Center will begin construction in the next few years, this is where the elevated busway will terminate, and there will be a series of moving walkways to connect the Link station to the airport entrances. I've also studied documents when drawing an extension of the Shuttle Train which would have to be double tracked. Fantasy routes are completely fictional routes or changes to routes that I have designed myself. I previously had an APM (Automated Peoplemover) line called the Central Line that ran from the Link station through the parking structure with a couple stops at different airport entrances, however after learning about the planned Ground Transportation Center I have removed this because it will include fully sheltered moving walkways. I've also changed the alignment of the elevated busway to match the renderings provided by the airport! - RapidRide A Line: Shown between 204th Street and Tukwila International Boulevard Station. - RapidRide A Line Extension: This extension would compliment the general area, extending north most likely to the future Duwamish Station. - RapidRide F Line: Shown between 4th Avenue South in Burien and Oakesdale Avenue Southwest in Renton. Moving dot may be inaccurate, I have attempted to get it to follow the correct path each way. - RapidRide F Line Improvement: A fictional improvement to the F Line route requiring the reactivation of a closed deteriorating road, new Union Pacific underpass, and ramp connecting 51st Avenue South to Southcenter Boulevard. - Express Route 560: Shown between SR-509 and Oakesdale Avenue Southwest. Moving dot may be inaccurate, I have attempted to get it to follow the correct path each way. - Express Route 574: Shown between I-5 & Military Road South and Sea-Tac Airport. Note that going northbound the route stops at 180th, SeaTac Station, and ends at Sea-Tac Terminal. Note that going southbound the route starts at SeaTac Station, then again serves Sea-Tac Terminal before continuing south. Note that the southbound Airport Expressway alignment is currently accurate but will be rebuilt in a different location with construction of the Terminal 2. Moving dot may be inaccurate, I have attempted to get it to follow the correct path each way. - Link 1 Line: Shown between Angle Lake Station and I-5 & South 140th Street in North Tukwila. - Elevated Busway: Full route shown between the planned new Ground Transportation Center and the existing Rental Car Center. Line color picked from Rental Car Shuttle Livery. - Airport Line APM: A fictional upgrade of Elevated Busway from bus to APM and extension to Tukwila International Boulevard Station, Southcenter, and Tukwila Station. - STride S1 Line: Note the alignment through the I-5 / I-405 / SR-518 interchange is an approximation. - Yellow Line Terminals Train Link: A fictional extension of the Satellite Transit System Yellow Line to Terminal 2. This idea is difficult to represent without a more detailed map or future plan. Airport documents simply say "STS should be expanded in the form of new lines or extension of existing lines to cover new parts of the airport no matter the distance or location." so I have done just that. Double tracking the existing Yellow Line Shuttle Train would be extremely challenging and I am interested to see what kind of system expansion the airport looks into. - Link 3 Line: This is a real Link line that will open from SODO to West Seattle in the 2030s, but it will end at Alaska Junction. This map includes a portion of a potential extension all the way to the airport (using the siding to turn around). This extension has not been officially proposed, but at least one Sound Transit board member has already suggested this for future expansion of the Link network.
