A hypothetical future transport network for the Glasgow region. Many current ScotRail regional and commuter lines remain, however a select few - particularly lines that currently see low levels of service or are close to the city centre - have been converted and now form part of a more expansive Subway network. These Subway routes have larger tunnels than the original 1896 tunnels, allowing for larger modern rolling stock to be used - likely similar to the London Underground S stock - effectively creating two separate networks.
