Vadodara Metro project is a mass rapid transit system proposed to be built in Vadodara by GMRC. Vadodara Metro’s DPR is being prepared by SYSTRA since September 2021 to determine its feasibility and size – whether to build as a Light Rail Transit “Metro-Lite” or bus-based “MetroNeo” system. When ready, the DPR will be sent for approval to the Government of Gujarat and then Government of India. ------------------------------------------------ Vadodara, also known as Baroda, is a major city in the Indian state of Gujarat. Vadodara is also locally referred to as the Sanskari Nagari ('Cultural City') and Kala Nagari ('City of Art') of India. At the time of the 2011 census of India, Vadodara Municipal Corporation and associated outgrowths had a population of 1,670,806.
