Austin is the best city in Texas (it's a very low bar 😊), so I thought I would create a rail network fitting it. The current project connect light rail plans are a decent base for a system, but I think it should be a metro line, or run underground through Downtown, but this miserable country doesn't know how to build rail at a reasonable cost. 😊 Due to the current plans being light rail, I reluctantly decided to make the whole system light rail, as the current route would be the area best suited for heavy rail especially due to the linearity of Austin. With the Light Rail, I decided to just make a dense network through the dense parts of the city. I built out the project connect light rail, and I added all of the planned future extensions as the base of the system. I added the Purple line, which runs parallel to the orange line. It serves the domain and all of the density along Lamar Blvd. I created the yellow line to serve as a semi-metro light rail line, but it is underground for most of its length, starting at 5th Street. I interlined the blue line, which is one of the planned project connect lines that is set to be interlined with the orange line, with the yellow line because of the advantages that running underground would bring to it. After adding all of the lines, I decided there needed to be something to make transferring between them easy, especially with the blue/yellow, orange, and purple lines running parallel to each other for a decent length, so I added the pink line. It is literally just meant to add interconnectivity in the system with it providing easy connections between 7 lines. There is a little bit of it that goes west of Mopac, but I don't think that last station would be possible because it would need to take space away from a golf course, and it would run by single-family homes, and NIMBYs are pathetic excuses for humans that will burn in hell. 😊 With the commuter rail, I added the red line and the proposed green line with all of its future extensions. I decided to make them go into a tunnel downtown so they could stop at the train station that is served by Amtrak. I added 3 new commuter rail lines, including the mint and cyan lines that are interlined for a significant portion of their length, they serve Georgetown, Round Rock, and Taylor. The other new commuter rail line is the magenta line, which goes down to San Marcos.
