Every rail line station and bus route in the DFW Metroplex. (check back for updates on Trinity Metro and DCTA bus routes) As of June 2025 There is 7 rail lines (3 transit agencies DART, Trinity Metro, and DCTA) in revenue service with 85 stations and a total of 175 miles of track serving the DFW Metroplex. DART Light Rail (Opened in June 1996) has 65 Stations with 4 light rail lines (Red, Blue, Green, Orange lines) that expands out to 95 miles of track. In 2024 DART announced they will be getting new LRVs to replace 95 out of the 163 of the existing SLRVs. New LRVs are set to run in service by 2029. (New LRV brand: TBA In Late 2025) DART Silver Line Regional Rail (September 2025) is DART's 26 mile east-west line that runs from Plano to DFW Airport Terminal B Station connecting with the existing Trinity Metro TEXRail in Grapevine and will also have access with DART's Red, Green, and Orange lines, as well as DCTA A-Train in the future. As of June 2nd 2025 DART is doing end-end testing everyday including weekends from 7AM-8PM with the option to do testing from 7AM-10PM (Depending on location). Trinity Railway Express (Opened December 1996) is a regional rail line that runs from Dallas to Fort Worth that expands out to 37 miles of track. This rail line has 10 stations. In 2026 TRE is expected to receive 5 Siemens Chargers that they ordered back in February 2024. On May 15th, 2025 DART/Trinity Metro agreed to lease 1 locomotive, 3 passenger cars, and 1 cab car from Minnesota's Northstar Commuter Rail with the potential to lease additional equipment if it becomes available — a real possibility, because of efforts to shut down the Northstar service as a result of low post-pandemic ridership. DCTA A-Train (Opened June 2011) is a regional rail line that runs from Carrollton to Denton that expands out to 21 miles of track. This rail line has 6 stations. In January 2025 DCTA announced that the A-Train will expand south to Downtown Carrollton to connect with DART's Silver Line to make it an easier transfer to DFW Airport and other parts of the Dallas suburbs. Opening timeline: TBA TEXRail (Opened January 2019) is a regional rail line from Downtown Fort Worth to DFW Airport. This line expands out to 27 miles of track. This rail line uses the Stadler FLIRT DMUs the first rail line to use FLIRTS in North America. In November 2024 Trinity Metro ordered more 4 more Stadler FLIRTS to their existing fleet. The new fleet will arrive in Early 2027. It's taking awhile to complete this but, it will look insane once it's finished. Please star and comment as your support. Thanks!
