Theoretical Alabama Rail Network

I try to stick exclusively to existing rail lines while forming a comprehensive network with some overlapping coverage to as many cities as possible, oriented around the central trunk of Decatur-Birmingham-Montgomery and the important offshoot Tuscaloosa-Birmingham. Some inter-state routes are suggested which would require cooperation with Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida to pull off. Line A5 simply shadows the former / soon-to-be-restored Gulf Coast Limited between New Orleans and Mobile. Line A1 parallels the existing Crescent between Meridian and Atlanta, with some infill stops and a westward expansion to Jackson. Lines A2 and A4 could potentially be extended west to Memphis under the right conditions, and A2 could eventually be extended east to Knoxville. All regional rail lines are through-running for simplicity, and often share track with the medium-distance rail lines except with some infill stations. Since all routes are under 750 miles, they will all have to be exclusively state-supported.
