A "Realistic" NYC Subway

Expanding/enhancing the NYC subway through deinterlining and "minor" capital projects rather than whole new routes and trunk lines. Routing Changes: F/H via 63rd St. tunnel takes over all QBL Local services, while the E manages all QBL Express. H runs to the Rockaways via Queenslink, with Woodhaven converted to an express station Rockaway shuttle now connects both branches through Hammels Wye instead of connecting to the A at Broad Channel M, now the H, continues with the F through Rutgers and serves as the Culver express during peak times, with the B/D connection to the Williamsburg tracks replacing the M along Myrtle Z discontinued J becomes a Nassau street shuttle between Brooklyn Bridge and Essex N continues with the Q to the Brighton Beach line, where the Q splits as the express and the N is the local The R stays as the 4th Ave. local, but instead follows the Sea Beach line to Coney Island. It also takes over the Astoria line. W is discontinued since the Astoria line and BMT Broadway local tracks can now operate the R at full capacity F/H run as full time express services on Culver North C becomes an express and stays as the express through Cranberry on CPW while the D is the local, relegating Grand Concourse to local service only, but they have the 4 as an express service Projects: 2nd Ave subway local tracks connection to Manhattan bridge eastern tracks on the south end (running to Bay Ridge and along West End) and running express under the current 2nd Ave. Subway with connections at 72nd and 116th and a station at 125th St. before running into the Bronx - This would be the big main capital project of this semi-realistic system. Also built would be express tracks built between 55th St. station and Grand St., connecting to the Nassau st. line just south of Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall Additional Lower Manhattan-Brooklyn Pierrepont tube between Broad on the Nassau st. line to Court St. on the Fulton Ave line Queenslink Astoria line extension to LGA Nostrand extension Utica extension Converting where the 3 train currently ends into the Lennox shuttle Connecting the 6th Ave. express tracks to the BMT Jamaica Line instead of the local tracks Union/Broadway station on the BMT Jamaica line to provide transfer to the G train, along with consolidation of the two neighboring stops into one Elmwood station on the Culver line to connect to IBX and conslidate nearby stops Ave H rebuild into an express station on the Brighton Beach line Myrtle flying junction to allow Myrtle trains to connect to the Broadway line without interfering Jamaica line infill station at Rockaway Beach Branch, paired with closure of Woodhaven and 104 St Bergen St. Lower level reactivation System Connections: Queensboro Plaza to Queens Plaza 55th St. on 2nd Av. to 53rd St./Lexington Bowery to Grand St. Houston St. to 2nd Av. 62nd St to New Utrecht
