This imagines a future where Metrolink passes a Measure R/M-style ballot measure specifically to electrify and expand their network, as well as one where freight railroads are required to electrify leading to greater cooperation between freight and Metrolink. This allows for tunnels to be dug connecting to Long Beach Airport and Disneyland, the Santa Paula Branch to be restored, and CAHSR to be a fully-fledged network reaching LAX, San Diego, Palm Springs, Phoenix, and Las Vegas, as well as many other minor improvements, grade separations, and essential connections.
Electrolink through-runs Union Station but does not have assigned line pairs - Northern lines run at twice the frequency (15 minutes) as the Southern side line (30 minutes) due to 16 lines feeding Union Station from the south and 8 feeding from the north.
I'm not sure what to do with the Westside, I thought about replacing the Expo Line to Santa Monica with a Metrolink line or placing a Metrolink line along the median of the 10 freeway but there's no good regional rail corridors left. Maybe in this future it is made up for by express heavy rail subways?
