I love making Toronto maps because I love Toronto (Controversial Opinion).
I sent Line 1 to Canada's Wonderland because I felt like it. Yonge North Extension as Metrolinx says it shall be.
I sent Line 2 into Mississauga because I can so deal with it. I then also sent it into Markham because why not.
I made the OL go all the way to Sheppard because it is the smart thing to do. Don Mills is wide enough that we could probable keep it elevated but it could be tunnelled as well, the interchange with Line 4 should probably be tunnelled to make transferring easy. This would also make it easier to extended to Steeles (So I did and then did not stop). I decided to send the OL to Dundas West/Bloor too because Metrolinx has said that want to do it but it's a low priority. After that I got carried a way a bit and sent it even further north to Downsview Park because I have no self respect anymore.
For the Line 4 extension I chose the STC route because why not. Plus, it can take over the McCowan SRT yard this way. I then sent the line west via Wilson squiggling its way along the 401/409 on an elevated viaduct similar to the UPX. You could also tunnel it if the viaduct can't fit but it should be able to (especially if you take a lane from the 409). This allows for a direct journey from Scarborough to the airport.
Line 5 West Extension as per the official under construction plan with some small alterations around the airport.
Line 6 extension to the airport because that makes sense. It should be elevated/grade separated as much as possible with it entering into a tunnel before Carlingview Dr to meet the Line 5 extension. Provisions were installed at Finch West for an eastward extension of the tunnel to Finch so I did just that. Hopefully it can be kept as a tunnel. We went from having limited east west options across line 1 to having too many. I then decided to send it to Seneca Polytechinc because post secondary institutions are always good drivers of ridership. Line 6 can't get too long because of the surface tramway section so hopefully it is not too long here. I then threw logic out the window and made it even longer. The section along Neilson is probably going to have to be surface running with occasional elevated segments because of how narrow Neilson is. Think Edmonton Valley Line.
Maybe we can get tunnel between T1 and T3 via the new underground station.
Line 7 gives me complicated feelings. I think the current surface tramway plan is stupid so I cut a lot of the stops and tried to simplify the route. The line should be as elevated as possible to keep speeds up considering Kingston & Eglinton are so wide. Being elevated has the benefit of being able to reuse the SRT structure and platforms.
Jane subway because it makes too much sense. The current LRT proposal I think is short sighted because it would have to be fairly grade separated anyways so just make it a full subway. Or light metro even using OL technology.
Steeles subway! There is a proposal kicking around for a Steeles LRT but I have decided that a subway using OL technology is better because I can.
I decided to make a Kipling light metro/OL line because shout out to Etobicoke. Vancouver managed to build the Canada Line in a similar amount of space so why not.
I did the same thing for Warden because I can.
