If the Tube's history happened in Basel: - Metropolitan Line : Originally built to connect Badischer Bahnhof and Bahnhof SBB as well as Dreispitz, then extended all the way to Laufen before being cut back to Aesch - District Line: Built to complete a circle around all Railway stations by adding St. Johann. Almost ran out of money, so built several suburban lines too, - Central Line: First deep level (beneath the river) underground line, able to cut through the middle of the city instead of going around it. Later, several suburban extentions were added. - Piccadilly Line: Connecting South and North in a new way, the line to the airport was added later - Northern Line: Originally two seperate lines, that were combined before being extended southwards, today has branches to the two most central financial/industry disctricts (Bankverein) and (Roche). A little line goes to a single station at Dreiländereck, and a new extension goes to Birsfelden. - Bankverein and Roche Line: Dedicated connection between two central points that are otherwise only connected poorly - Bakerloo Line: Follows a similar route to the Northern from north to south, but interchanging with different lines at important destinations - Victoria Line: Built to connect important transport hubs with other destinations, that were not yet on the network - Jubel Line: Originally built as a substiute for the Bakerloo, later extended south of the river to the new large educational facility in Muttenz - Purple Train: Taking over established train routes plus going right through the city in a central core corridor - (Hammersmith & City equivalent, DLR and Trams do not exist)
