This shows a large project-three states and DC, three population centers, and myriad agencies. These notes are organized by operator, N-S, so take a look to see what the projects on here are. Thanks!, Baltimore Notes: The Red Line has arrived! (My version, anyway.) It is a popular alignment out of the options offered at the time it was pursued before being shut down by Hogan. It runs between the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services via Downtown and Bayview to Dundalk. An underground connection is available between Charles Center and the Inner Harbor station. I upgraded it from Hogan’s LRT to HRT. (The new Moore routes are very similar as well, but LRT) The original Metro SubwayLink line has been extended to the northeast. The Light RailLink will be transformed (and this is a bit fantastical). I envision three “forks”to the south of the system—to BWI, to Columbia, and to Jacobsville via Glen Burnie. This would require a lot of work in traffic flow and potentially grade separations in the center city to make sure that the trains can pass with frequency. I rerouted the BWI service to Penn so that there is all-day, relatively frequent service to Penn. Bayview and Madison Square are new stations on the Penn Line in Baltimore. There is an extension to Newark, DE, which is served by some trains., MARC Notes: Not much has changed. Washington Grove lost MARC service with the arrival of the Red Line, as that would be entirely too much service. Laurel Park/Laurel Race Track was dropped because it sees ridiculously low loads. Its infrastructure was kept for use as a special event station until TOD is built in the area., MDOT Notes: The Purple Line is here! (eventually) It has also been extended to Largo and PGCC. The BRT routes in Moco have been built out to the current plans., MDOT Notes: The Purple Line is here! (eventually) It has also been extended to Largo and PGCC. The BRT routes in Moco have been built out to the current plans., DC Streetcar Notes: The awaited extension of the current H/Benning line to Minnesota Avenue has been completed. The K Street Transitway under study now has been built as a streetcar from day 1. It also extends across Wisconsin to Tenleytown. A line has been sent up Georgia Avenue to provide high-quality service to areas like Brightwood west of the Red Line and north of Columbia Heights. A northern crosstown through Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights has been planned. It continues through Brookland. The Anacostia streetcar down Minnesota Avenue has been built, as well as a route from Anacostia, up 8th Street in Capitol Hill, across Florida in Eckington, across 14th street, and then passing through Adams Morgan to Woodley Park and the Zoo. Finally, a line begins at the District border on RI Ave, connecting to U Street, then traveling down U Street past Logan Circle, meeting up with the K Street streetcar to Georgetown., Metro Notes: This is in a future in which Metro has been updated so that there can be 90-second headways in any tunnel. (So, for those counting, that is 40 TPH. Currently, Metro is limited to 26 TPH.) The Metro Blue Line has been rerouted so that there can be a) service to the important Georgetown and northern Downtown regions and so that b) there can be additional capacity beyond Rosslyn into the current Potomac crossing. It follows the Blue Line Loop pattern, but does not cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. (I have a hard time seeing this coexist with the Yellow line extension mentioned below.) It also has been extended to Potomac Mills, the idea here being that it may help additional people get off I-95 and reduce congestion and traffic in the Springfield area. (Although this would likely need more transit from PWC) To be paired with the new Blue tunnel, there is a Pink Line, traveling from the Beltway at Annandale to Pentagon station via Columbia Pike and the denser development there. This follows through NE to College Park via Ivy City and downtown Hyattsville. I seriously considered drawing a Teal/Brown line from Loudon County through Arlington and Alexandria to the southern end of the BL. I think the route would be great, as Rosslyn is a crunch point, and it will only get worse with the development of the new BL. However, I decided it would be a bad idea because it would drastically reduce capacity in the YL shared corridor from Pentagon-King St. The current Green Line has been extended to JFB Andrews and Laurel, MD. Not all trains will go to Laurel, some will terminate at Greenbelt. The Orange Line will be extended in both directions, to Centreville, VA and Bowie, MD. The Silver Line is just going to do what it does as at time of writing, the current extension is not open. If, in 2028, SV is running low capacity, then perhaps it could be extended on here, but there really isn’t anything further to get to besides Leesburg, which is quite the distance from Downtown DC. The Yellow Line has been extended to Fort Belvoir, VA through Mt. Vernon. This would give a lot of new passengers through the area to pick up. It would end at Greenbelt, not through the new GR extension to Laurel. Finally, the Red Line has been extended to Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Clarksburg. Coupled with ATO’s increased headways, this leads to growth without overcrowding. Ideal Service Levels: OR: 24 TPH SV:16 BL:24 YL:16 GR: 24 RD: 40 between Grosvenor and Silver Spring, 24 between Glenmont and Shady Grove, 16 between Shady Grove and Clarksville., Virginia BRT Notes: Several routes have been put in Virginia. The PikeRide services have been consolidated into a BRT to Annandale and to Skyline. The Route 7 and West End BRTs have been built. A BRT has been built down Langston Blvd/29 to Falls Church. The commuter routes down US 50 in Loudoun have been consolidated into an all-day BRT route, connecting to the Orange Line extension and Fairfax and the Pink Line., VRE Notes: With additional capacity across the Long Bridge, additional capacity for VRE should open. I see all-day service on both lines. I have also added an additional service to Front Royal, breaking from the Manassas Line at Manassas, to cover Gainesville and provide connection to Front Royal and the Shenandoah Valley. The original line has been extended from Broad Run to Warrenton, as well. The Fredericksburg Line I have extended to Richmond to show a united Amtrak-VRE, all-day, local and express service along this route. I also created a “Capital Line”which would run focused on Richmond, from Petersburg to Fredericksburg. The Manassas Line renamed to the West Line and the Fredericksburg Line the South Line. I imagine that all-day, frequent service would not run all the way to Front Royal or Warrenton. Either current peak-commter service or a system which ran 4tph on the West (fm. Manassas) line, one each to Front Royal, Warrenton, Haymarket, and Broad Run, allowing for 15 min service from Manassas to Union. A few infill stations have been added across the network., Richmond Notes: The current Pulse route has been extended to RIC Airport and to VA 288 at Short Pump. New routes are added at Midlothian Turnpike from 288 through Manchester and Downtown. Also, a route from the Woodlake area along Hull Street to Downtown, then along Mechanicsville Turnpike to Mechanicsville HS. * DC Streetcar K/Wisconsin: (Tram, 25 stations) Tenleytown-AU, Nebraska/Wisconsin, Upton/Wisconsin, Porter/Wisconsin, Newark/Wisconsin, National Cathedral, Massachusetts/Wisconsin, Fulton/Wisconsin, Calvert/Wisconsin, 35th/Wisconsin, 34th/Wisconsin, Reservoir/Wisconsin, Reservoir/Wisconsin, Q/Wisconsin, P/Wisconsin, M/Wisconsin, 29th/M, Washington Cir, 21st/K, Farragut Square, 14th/K, Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center, 5th/K, New Jersey Ave, Union Station * DC Streetcar Georgia: (Tram, 21 stations) Union Station, New Jersey Ave, 5th/K, Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center, O/7th, Shaw-Howard U, Florida/Georgia, Georgia/Howard Place, Georgia/Columbia, Georgia Ave-Petworth, Kansas/Georgia, Georgia/Crittenden, Arkansas/Georgia, Kennedy/Georgia, Missouri/Georgia, Piney Branch/Georgia, Aspen/Georgia, Georgia/Elder, Alaska/Georgia, 13th/Georgia (SS), Silver Spring * MTA SMRT BRT: (Tram, 13 stations) White Plains, Smallwood, Downtown Waldorf, Acton, Mattawoman, Timothy Branch, Brandywine P&R, Surratts, Woodyard, Coventry Way, Camp Springs, Camp Springs, Branch Ave * WMATA Metrorail Pink Line: (Metro/rapid transit, 31 stations) College Park-UMD, Riverdale Park Town Ctr, Hyattsville, Port Towns, Fort Lincoln, Ivy City, Union Market-Gallaudet, Union Station, New Jersey Ave, Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center, Thomas Cir, Dupont Cir, West End, Georgetown, Georgetown University, Rosslyn, Arlington Cemetery, Pentagon, Arlington View (S Washington Blvd/S Orme), Alcova Heights, Barcroft (S George Mason), Four Mile (S Buchanan/S Four Mile Run), Bailey's Crossroads, Lincolnia Rd, Annandale, Little River, Wakefield-NOVA, Wakefield-NOVA, Mantua, Fairfax City, George Mason University * Ride On Flash BRT Veirs Mill: (Tram, 14 stations) Montgomery College, Park Road, Rockville, Edmonston Dr, Atlantic Avenue, Twinbrook Parkway, Aspen Hill, Robindale, Randolph Rd, Connecticut Avenue, Norris Dr, University Blvd, University Blvd, Wheaton * Ride On Flash BRT Route 355: (Tram, 22 stations) Clarksburg Outlets, Frederick Road, Cedar Brook/Rainbow Arch Dr, Snowden Farm Parkway, Newcut Road, Ridge Road, Milestone P&R, Amber Ridge/Milestone, Seneca Meadows, Montgomery College Germantown, Holy Cross Hospital, Gunners Branch Road, Watkins Mill Rd, Lakeforest TC/Mall, Lakeforest Blvd, Gaithersburg, Education Blvd, South Westland Drive, South Westland Drive, Montgomery College, Park Road, Rockville * Ride On Flash BRT Route 29 - Briggs Chaney: (Tram, 11 stations) Briggs Chaney P&R, Briggs Chaney P&R, Tech Road, April Ln, White Oak TC, FDA, Oak Leaf Dr, Burnt Mills, Four Corners, Fenton, Silver Spring * Ride On Flash BRT North Bethesda: (Tram, 9 stations) Montgomery Mall TC, Fernwood Road, Rock Spring Drive, Wildwood Medical Center, Tuckerman Lane, Edson Lane, Edson Lane, Executive Boulevard, North Bethesda (fm.
