Freeway median rail is always controversial and certainly has its limits, but realistically demolishing LA's vast freeway network is a pipe dream. The next best thing? Use the already grade separated freeway ROWs for fast, expansive commuter rail. I opted to take inspiration from S-Bahn systems like BART but mainly the RER in Paris.
