This is a work in progress of what i think should be the transit for northern England in the future. It has all sorts of transit modes, including streetcars, light rail, buses, heavy rail, and even HSR. Key things to note: 1. Some longer distance Manchester Metrolink services (or MLR as I'm calling it), will be replaced with metro services, so the rails would need to be adapted to hold heavy metro. The reason for this is that it reduces interlining in the city centre and can provide more frequency for other lines. 2. I might do bus routes gradually, but the main focus is rail here.
