https://www.valleylinkrail.com/ There is a concept that just got turned down by BART of a new 4 station valley link hydrogen rail (???) project. At a cost of $2 Billion you get 4 stations with very questionable ridership in my opinion. This is proportedly supposed to connect the San Joaquin Valley to BART in the far future. I think for that same amount of Money you could, as an alternative, really beef up the ACE train with electrification, more sensible routing, and infill stations. The recent Caltrain electrification project came out to $2.4 Billion so this isn't like completely outside the scope of the project. As another alternate proposal there is a significant lack of rail service that could connect Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin and the San Joaquin County suburbs so maybe use that $2 Billion for a light rail project that feeds into ACE and Bart? Better connectivity and interchange service for Bart AND ACE!
