An attempt at a realistic rail expansion, guiding the development and connectivity of the Rio de Janeiro metro area. The lines are somewhat based on official plans and proposals for rail expansion and urban development. [WIP] - Niterói Região Norte: there's conflict between railway and the Rio-Niterói bridge. Also Caramujo is difficult to engineer. Looking for solutions. - Linha Bangú/Realengo - Madureira // new TransCarioca routing? - Nova Iguaçu / Belford Roxo → destination analysis stresses the importance of routes within the region. Centro is not as important of a destination. - São Gonçalo integrated line, BR-101? - alignment of Line 6 in Jacarepagua. Marked with a station in Pç Playboy I might sway the line more into Taquara. Similarly, I might straighten the alignment at Gardenia Azul. Opinions? Test: testing ground for lines and iterations. (hide to see current map progress) BHLS/BRT [Preliminary: "integrated" for the time being will include bus systems with dedicated infrastructure]: - BRT TransBrasil and TransOlímpica are mostly as present. - TransOeste has been adjusted in Barra da Tijuca and Campo Grande due to the subway extension and addition of the VLT Campo Grande respectively. - In addition to the BHLS TransOceânica which has 1 further stop and one new branch, the BHLS TransLeste passes through São Gonçalo. - Recent addition is the BHLS line TransRural from Deodoro to Seropédica via Bangu. - Main feeder lines "Conexão BRT" are implemented with few changes. Metro phase 4: finalization of a flexible and robust network. - Construction of the northern branch of Line 8 Região Norte, Line 12 Ilha–Centro Olímpico and Line 5 Botafogo–Vila Isabel possibly integrating with Line 7. - Implementation of Line 10 Taquara–Jardim Oceânico following a different standard from the other metro system, primarily running elevated and smaller rolling stock.
